In this interactive switchboard there is possibilities for challenging audio/visuals for both children and grown up children like you and me. With the map as a starting point for your mind travel and also for you "real" travel you are about to start at the airport anything can happen on the switchboard.
The basic idea is that you by patching cords from example the departure city to your destination can get visual and sonic information. The actual patching is also providing a tactile experience that give the interface a genuine feel. I want to create an combined hi-tech/low-tech feeling to the experience by make the circuitry and cords visual. Those can be used to outline the map silhouette. A video projection on the board provide visual information according to your patching. It can be facts about the airport or your destination presented in a challenging and interesting way. With the use of video-projection the visual material is very flexible, only our imagination will set the limits
Target audience is older children and it is going to be located within the playground as a part of our main playground proposal.
